Baking From My Home to Yours
In Baking From My Home to Yours, Dorie applies the lessons from three decades of experience to her first and real love: home baking. The 300 recipes will seduce a new generation of bakers, whether their favorite kitchen tools are a bowl and a whisk or a stand mixer and a baker’s torch.
Baking From My Home to Yours Review
I think Baking From My Home to Yours is a great book. I actually got it as a housewarming gift almost 2 years ago so cost wasn’t a factor for me. I have tried about 60% of the recipes in Baking From My Home to Yours, every breakfast recipe except one or two, several pies, cookies and cakes and not a lot in the ice cream and custard categories. Some recipes I will never try because I just don’t like some of the ingredients or the food in general, like the rice pudding or butterscotch pudding, and certain items with dried fruit.
If I could’ve given 4.5 stars then I would but I gave it 4 because Baking From My Home to Yours is great and I would recommend it but it isn’t perfect. I bake a lot for meetings/parties/dinners with our church and every recipe I have made from Baking From My Home to Yours book has gotten amazing reviews and everyone always asks for the recipes so it is worth purchasing if you bake a lot, once or twice a week.
The best part is the way Greenspan teaches general techniques for various desserts, while also giving you specific recipes. This allows the cook to take the things they’ve learned and make their own creations, or they can stick to the ones in the book. Baking From My Home to Yours is the mark of a true classic cookbook, in my opinion.
